Joel A. DeFelice

Joel A. DeFelice is an attorney practicing in Connecticut, where his work includes civil litigation, collections, residential and commercial real estate matters, and estate planning. He represents individuals and businesses in both contested and transactional matters, including matters litigated in state court.

Attorney DeFelice received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The American University, School of Public Affairs, in Washington, D.C., where he was a Dean’s Scholarship Recipient from 1994 to 1998. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2006. He is admitted to practice before the Connecticut State Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.

Attorney DeFelice is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Tolland County Bar Association, and Hartford County Bar Association. He served as President of the Tolland County Bar Association during the 2014–2015 term.

Attorney DeFelice has served as a Special Divorce Master for the Rockville (Tolland County) Marriage Dissolution Court since 2013. He regularly represents parties in Housing Court, and in connection with civil protective orders and restraining orders. He has advised business clients on product distribution agreements, commercial and residential leasing, and the litigation of business disputes.

In 2025, Attorney DeFelice was appointed as a FINRA Public Arbitrator.
